Four Ways to Happiness
Many scientific studies have been shown proving there are some major pathways that lead to a happy life., and the most common among them are these:
Leading a transcendental life. This means living in the mystery of life, where you may not be able to describe Source, God, but practice the habits that lead to having a bigger perspective on life using such helpful methods as meditating, walking in nature, listening intently to music, etc.
Having a real sense of family life which leads to a sense of belonging to community, for some, having a church family benefits the happiness quotient.
Experiencing friendship in a meaningful way leads to a sense of safety and sharing. I call my closest friends “flat tire friends” because I know they will show up when I am in need, and I do the same for them.
Work that is other focused where we earn our success from serving others. This work is self-fulfilling by its own nature.
These ways and means to happiness give us a bigger perspective of life and a meaning beyond the trivial. When we focus on the bigger meaning of life sincerely, it is not as important which perspective is “right” in some cosmic sense because we get the same neuroscientific benefits from it, the same happiness quotient in our brain because of it
